Finally. It's here. I am writing a blog. The emphasis on finally merely comes from the fact that I said I would start a blog for roughly the last three to four years. The only real excuse I had for failing to accomplish the goal is the last year and a half as I have been attending graduate school. No excuses though because I have plenty of friends with great blogs who are in graduate school. So, before graduate school? Well, nothing. I have no excuse and hence the title, 'Ready, Set . . . Set . . . Set. . . Go!' Sure, I made up the excuse that writing has never been my talent, yet I say I want to improve my writing skills. Hmm. Nothing happened. So, what's motivated this year, besides the fact that I got married and it seems like everyone who gets married starts a blog for about six months, at least right?
Call me guilty, but I am starting this blog NOW 15% because Lance and I got married a month ago, December 21, 2013 to be exact. There's more, don't worry. How about also10% because I want to do a better job keeping in touch with people, 5% because I believe it will help me improve writing (friends, please feel free to email me on how to improve the grammar), and 70% because I promised my friend Melanie that I have a blog started by 7:00 pm today. These stats roughly estimate why I'm starting it today on Monday, January 19, 2014 rather than tomorrow, Wednesday, or Thursday.
I'm excited to share our adventures, travels, hobbies, and fun we have each day. It's titled, 'Our Sunny World' because Lance and I both try to focus on sunny the side of life. Life's so much better when you're happy, you're laughing, and look optimistically towards the future. I love Steve Tyrell's version of the song, "On the Sunny Side of the Street" that was used in the movie Father of the Bride: Part 2. On a side note, I remember countless times when my dad played this song in my home growing up and it brings back great memories of singing and laughing with my family.
Lance and I, we're pretty simple, we love life, learning new hobbies and skills together, traveling together, getting to know people wherever we go. We could not use sunny in the title if we both didn't love the sun. We love it, and anyone who knows me is aware of my affinity to the California sun. We're very excited to be living in the Bay Area for the next couple months and are excited for our adventures to come.
Stay tuned for more adventures to come next week--I promise.
